About Us

Welcome to F.Y.N.!

We are a husband & wife team who are passionate about learning, animals and more specifically dog training. We started this company together in 2017 and we've been so lucky to meet and work with some truly amazing clients so far. Our main goal is to show every dog owner that training can be relaxed and FUN, and that anyone can do it.  Want to learn more about our skills & credentials? See below!

Derek Farnsworth - Certified Obedience Trainer

"Training is a marathon, not a sprint."

Throughout my life, I've had dogs of all shapes and sizes. As a kid my mom helped me train our family pets to have manners and do some pretty cool tricks. I started working full time at a dog kennel in 2015 and soon realized I wanted to continue my career in the animal industry. I'm a graduate of the Animal Behavior College Dog Training program and am proficient in Puppy Training, Basic Obedience, as well as Pet CPR and First Aid Certified. My goal is continuous improvement of my knowledge in the many philosophies and techniques of animal training and husbandry.

Madison Farnsworth - Certified Obedience Trainer

"All 4 on the floor!"

"I was lucky enough to grow up with various breeds large and small. In 2015 I took a part time job walking dogs which evolved into a management position at a dog daycare. We adopted a "teenage" German Shepherd and quickly realized that we'd need to learn how to train him if we wanted to maintain a peaceful life at home. It was a fun challenge training our own "pest" and sparked my interest in the Animal Behavior College Dog Training program. I’m knowledgeable in Puppy Training and Basic Obedience, I'm also Pet CPR Certified. My next goal is to gain an in depth understanding of the principles of dog nutrition.

Whiskers The GSD

My name is Whiskers and I'm a German Shepherd, I became part of the Follow Your Nose squad in 2015. When I left the Humane Society I had a bad lung infection and I almost didn’t make it. Luckily I got some good medicine and made a swift recovery! When I’m not busy holding down the fort, I’m practicing my good manners and my impressive tricks. I have a couple of things that I'm working everyday to improve on and I’m always excited to work with my humans.

Tango the Malinois

I'm Tango, I was bred to WORK. You can usually find me at the dog park practicing off leash heeling and other advanced training skills! Soon I will get my Canine Good Citizen Certificate and begin some agility and scent work training. I love to work for the ball because.. ball is life!
